About the Logo for the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims

1) Design Concept

The logo for the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims (henceforth known as the Memorial Hall) was designed with a stylized clockface poised at 8:15 am, the time of the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945, in the hopes that humanity does not forget what happened that day. It is our hope that visitors will carry the prayers of the hibakusha in their hearts and into the future so that we never repeat the tragedy of Hiroshima.
