Over 3 Million visitors since August 2002 opening

Update: 2016/02/02

Since the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims opened on August 1st in 2002, three million people have visited the Hall.

We are honored that millions of people who are not only from Japan but also overseas have visited the Hall for the past thirteen years and a half and we believe that many visitors were moved by the A-bomb victims' and survivors' emotions and words and that we conveyed the truth of the tragedy of the A-bomb bombing to them.

Seventy years have passed since atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. To convey the truth of the tragedy of the A-bomb bombing is one of our missions and we promise to dedicate all our strength to collecting memoirs, information and other materials related to this dark period of history.

We hope that as many people as possible will visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hall and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. In addition, we would like you to convey what you learn and how you are moved during your visit to people close to you, so they will understand the horror of war and importance of peace. We believe that this will contribute to creating (building) a peaceful world free from war.
